A Day Of Spontaneity!- Thrift Sale + The Zoo.

It’s May 26th, just past eight pm, and I’m cozying in for the evening. I’m reading “Wild Girl,” and it reminded me that I wanted to begin daily blogging.

I pay a lot for this website, I should use it god darn it!

This morning started early, but later than my typical start. Just after seven am, I greeted the day with warm anticipation. I immediately sent myself to the bathroom, so that I could get into my self care routines.

Self care has changed my day, my perspective, and my motivations so incredibly much. This is obviously known, through ancient rituals and modern sale pitches alike, but it’s always lovely to discover it on your own.

And anyway, it helped me find footing for the busy day ahead.

My boyfriend and I buckled up, without even a bite of breakfast (something we NEVER do, or try not to), and began the trek to “TEXAS THRIFT” for their Memorial Day sale. The entire store was half off, and we were prepared to wait in long lines and work through large crowds.

And luckily, it wasn’t too too TOO busy when we were there.

We were extremely surprised and happy with our discoveries at the thrift.

We have been adamant on getting rid of most of our wardrobe, for a fresh chapter.

We are adamant on being DIY (we don’t shop first hand hardly ever!), and try to reduce our consumerism, but we have both outgrown our individual wardrobes, and have felt uncomfortable and stagnant and honestly, depressed.

Today was a lovely conclusion to that. We declared, okay, this is the LAST time we are thrifting till Oregon (we are moving later this year). I wonder if that’ll be true…….

Feeling confident, and ready to tackle the last throws of spring cleaning, my brother, and our best friend, Skye, came over on a whim!

We had just finished scarfing DELICOUS leftovers (see previous blogpost for a peak at the mouthwatering meal Hawk made. Seriously, I’m salivating thinking about it). Oh and also, we had split a handful of snacks pre thrifting. I had brought them JUST in case. And, of course, we tackled them within the first fifteen minutes of driving.

We sat with skye for a delightful chat on the porch, while he ate his lunch from the local taqueria (god bless texas for this).

The idea of going to the zoo came up, after complaining of the development all across the city and the need to see some god honest wildlife.

Kinda ironic, because a zoo is , well, it’s not wild. But I’m NOT anti zoo okay! Obviously.

And a delightful spontaneous trip it was.

It was not one we would have taken with forethought, as it was quite hot, quite crowded, and quite later in the day (so a lot of critters may have crawled back in for an afternoon nap; can’t claim em).

But there was hardly any complaints (there usually aren’t, we try to always stay positive!), and the day processed with whimsical wonder.

Let’s just say, we were sleepy when we got home.

After a yummy oven pan dinner, and a cozy movie with my love, it is time to rest and prepare for the day ahead.

But for now, I am grateful for all that has transpired.

Xoxo, Nadi.
