A cozy diner in Oregon, with gluten free options!
I recently moved to the Pacific NorthWest, and it has been an exciting and opportune journey!
Something I’ve been hopeful for on the west coast is access to gluten free options for eating out food, which I’ve had limited experience with where I’m from. It’s always disappointing when you have to opt out of a meal with your loved ones or peers, despite your hunger!
We explored several options across the coast, which I’m excited to dive into in future pieces, one of which, and a favorite certainly, is Biscuits Cafe!
The spot we stopped at was in a tree lined suburb, which is brilliant when painted by Autumn’s color palette. It made for an extra cozy morning, doubled by the patter of rain.
Luckily, they have locations scattered across Oregon, so we’ll have several opportunities to sit in a booth and grab a lovely latte or two!
They boast their fresh ingredients on their website, and it was reflected in the food!
After a nearly fifty hour drive, we were jonesing for a nice warm meal, similar to one you’d get from a family member.
We felt more than satisfied by the large plates, polite and attentive waiters, and gluten free options!
I opted for some toast, and expected the usual pre packed, and let’s face it, slightly soggy, gluten free bread bought from a warehouse. Which, hey, I’m not complaining! Any option is a good option, and it can help massively with cross contamination. Don’t let me yuck your yum, as they say!
And it was FANTASTIC! I was blown away, and even double checked with our waiter that it was indeed gluten free. He chucked and said of course! They source it from a local bakery.
It paired amazingly with my “Build Your Own Breakfast” plate. A classic, but made deliciously by them!
I can’t wait to try them again; I’ve got my eyes set on their gluten free waffles!
